Strategic Direction 2007-2010

Goals Objectives
Increase awareness and understanding of issues that face women and girls and how the Women's Giving Alliance is addressing these issues.
  • Enhance communications to members so they are able to “tell the WGA story”.
  • Work to achieve community visibility through regular, broad-based media coverage of WGA.
Demonstrate the impact of our grants on the lives of women and girls.
  • Establish and implement a methodology to assess the long-term impact of the programs WGA funds.
  • Facilitate agencies' capacity to measure the programs we support.

Support our members' strategic philanthropic activities.

  • Collaborate with The Community Foundation to expand members' knowledge about the approaches to strategic philanthropy.
  • Promote and highlight members' philanthropic activities.
  • Explore the creation of a girls giving circle to promote philanthropy among members' daughters and granddaughters.

Grow membership

  • Reach the milestone of 300 members in 3 years.
  • Reach out to women of many backgrounds so that membership has a more diverse demographic profile.

Continually improve WGA's internal operations.

  • Establish a mechanism for succession of key leaders.
  • Work with The Community Foundation's staff to find ways to be more efficient and cost-effective in our operations.
  • Continue to learn about best practices of other giving circles.
  • Monitor the implementation and results of the three-year strategic plan.
